Processing Methods We Offer

Powder Sintering

Controlled atmosphere sintering to achieve target pore size and porosity. Precise temperature profiles ensure consistent pore structure across the entire batch. This process is used for our sintered powder filter elements and sintered porous components.

  • Pore size control: ±10% of target
  • Materials: SS 316L, Ti, Monel, Hastelloy
  • Atmosphere: H₂, N₂, vacuum

CNC Turning & Milling

Post-sinter CNC machining for tight-tolerance OD, ID, and end-face dimensions. Threaded, flanged, and custom end-cap geometries machined to drawing.

  • OD tolerance: ±0.05 mm
  • Length tolerance: ±0.1 mm
  • Thread standards: BSP, NPT, metric

Wire EDM & Laser Cutting

Precision cutting of sintered mesh and perforated sheet to net-shape profiles — discs, rings, and custom contours without edge distortion or burring.

  • Kerf width: <0.1 mm
  • Suitable for hardened and thin materials
  • No mechanical stress on porous structure

Surface Finishing

Electropolishing, passivation, and sandblasting services to improve corrosion resistance and surface cleanliness for pharmaceutical and semiconductor applications.

  • Electropolish: Ra ≤ 0.4 µm achievable
  • Passivation: ASTM A967 / AMS 2700
  • Citric acid passivation available

Welding & Assembly

TIG welding of sintered elements to end-caps, flanges, and housings. Full penetration welds tested for porosity. Sub-assembly and pressure-test ready units supplied.

  • TIG weld qualification per AWS D1.6
  • All welds dye-penetrant inspected
  • Pre-assembled filter units available

Dimensional Inspection

CMM and optical inspection of critical dimensions on all finished components. Full dimensional reports supplied for first articles and on request for production lots.

  • CMM accuracy: ±0.005 mm
  • 100% visual inspection
  • First-article inspection report standard
