Why Metal Filters Outperform Polymer in Water Treatment

Water treatment processes — from municipal intake to final RO membrane protection — place heavy demands on filter media. High suspended solids loads cause rapid polymer cartridge fouling. Temperature swings during CIP cycles destroy pleated polyester elements. Chlorine and oxidising agents attack polypropylene housings.

Sintered stainless steel and titanium filters address all three failure modes. In RO pre-filtration and similar duties, backwashable metal elements are often selected where longer service intervals and reusable media can offset the higher initial cost of polymer replacements.

FILTURE supplies SS 316L and titanium sintered filter elements in pore sizes from 0.22 µm to 100 µm — sized for the specific suspended solids load and membrane sensitivity of your process. For aeration and sparging duties, our sintered porous tubes and diffuser discs provide uniform bubble distribution with minimal energy input.

Custom end caps, housing dimensions, and connection types are produced through our OEM/ODM manufacturing process, with documented pore-size and pressure test reports shipped with every order.

RO Membrane Pre-filtration

Protect reverse osmosis membranes from particulate fouling. Sintered SS filters at 1–5 µm upstream of RO arrays dramatically extend membrane replacement cycles.
