Pure titanium (commercially pure) is the standard choice for corrosion-resistant process equipment — valves, housings, fittings, and reactor internals handling HCl, H₂SO₄, chlorinated solvents, and seawater. Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) provides significantly higher tensile strength (≥900 MPa) for structural components, aerospace fasteners, and high-load applications where corrosion resistance must be combined with strength.
