Ti Sintered Powder Filter Element

Made from high-purity Grade 2 titanium powder by isostatic pressing and vacuum sintering. Titanium resists a range of environments that attack 316L SS — concentrated sulfuric and hydrochloric acid solutions, chloride-rich streams, wet chlorine, and seawater.

The element uses an all-metal titanium structure with no polymer filter media, which can make it suitable for selected pharmaceutical, food-contact, and corrosive process duties when the full application requirements are confirmed. Material and documentation options should be reviewed against the end user's regulatory and validation needs.

A significant application is the porous transport layer (PTL) in PEM electrolyzers and fuel cells. In this role the element must simultaneously conduct current, distribute water uniformly to the membrane, and allow gas to escape from the reaction surface. FILTURE supplies both tubular elements for in-line filtration and flat disc/plate formats for direct stack integration, with porosity and pore size controlled to the individual cell design.

Cartridge ends are finished to fit standard housings: M20 or M30 threaded studs, 222/226 double O-ring quick-connect for big-blue and bag-filter housings, flat-face (双平压口) for compression-seal housings, or BSP threaded ports — all to customer drawing. Because the structure is all-metal, it generally maintains pore geometry and dimensions better under heat and pressure than many polymer cartridges: typical polymer media may degrade above 50 °C, and some PTFE elements can distort under relatively low external loads once temperatures rise well above ambient.

Product Features

What Sets Titanium Sintered Elements Apart

Acid and Chloride Resistant

Stable in 3% HCl, 5% H₂SO₄, various concentrations of HNO₃, seawater, NaOH, and chloride salt solutions that would corrode 316L SS.

PEM Porous Transport Layer

Controlled porosity 30–45%, pore size to specification for gas diffusion and current distribution in PEM electrolyzer and fuel cell stacks.

All-Metal Titanium Structure

No binder or polymer filtration layer is used in the structure. For pharmaceutical or food-contact service, material suitability and extractables expectations should be reviewed within the end user's own validation process.

Backwashable and Regenerable

Pure-water back-flush, steam back-blow, HNO₃ acid wash, or NaOH soak, plus ultrasonic cleaning. The sintered titanium structure survives repeated regeneration without structural change.

Full Certification

Material test reports (chemical composition, mechanical properties), certificate of conformance, and bubble-point test data available on request.

Custom Porosity and Dimensions

Porosity 30–45% and pore size 0.22–100 µm adjustable by specification. Disc or plate formats for electrolyzer stack dimensions on request.

Standard Cartridge End-Cap Options

M20 or M30 threaded stud, 222/226 double O-ring quick-connect for standard cartridge housings, flat-face (双平压口) for compression-seal housings, or BSP threaded port — to customer drawing.

Stable to 400 °C — No Polymer Degradation

The all-metal structure holds its pore size and outer dimensions under continuous high-temperature service, not recommended above 400 °C. Polymer cartridge media typically degrades above 50 °C, and even PTFE elements distort under 0.2 MPa external load once temperatures pass 120 °C.
